Many of those visiting the centre come come from single mother households with women finding work where they can: selling corn and breaking rocks. Protein is the first nutrient to be cut from diets when families do not have enough money for food.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.abcafrica.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/PastedGraphic-3.png\"><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.abcafrica.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Dottos-family.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-255\" src=\"http:\/\/www.abcafrica.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Dottos-family.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.abcafrica.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/PastedGraphic-3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-258\" src=\"http:\/\/www.abcafrica.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/PastedGraphic-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>ABC Africa<\/b> are supporting the <b>Uzima Centre <\/b>by funding the \u201cFood First\u201d programme for 61 of the most vulnerable children. These children will receive a nutritious meal of beans, rice and green vegetables, education on low cost high impact nutrition, their weight will be monitored and the same children will receive 2 kilos of dried beans per month to take home.<\/p>\n<p>ABC Africa is the sole funder of this programme but are hoping that other donors\/charities will join us in supporting what is an essential grass roots programme during a period of crisis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Uzima Center, Ilemela The\u00a0 current drought conditions in Tanzania have exacerbated\u00a0the difficulties orphaned and vulnerable children already face within this community.
